I don't like traxxas products I had a 4-tec pro it was good in a straight line but crap in the turns. A properly tuned fusion with the topend speed gears should take the 3.3 The Schumacher Superstore offers a package deal where you get the topend speed clutchbell for free just check their website.http://www.schumacher-rc.com/

I notice that I cant adjust my speeds... I want to get to 3rd gear quicker.. with the optional gearing , will I get their slower, by the gear being bigger ?... ? # 2 how wide are those rear 1/8 serpent tires you mentioned ?.......... class is in session, im your student:teacher:

The Schumacher tranny is not adjustable. You can get around that by altering the springs and pawls. You can make your tranny shift sooner by using a tranny spring kit from a menace style number U2492, these springs are softer than the stock springs that come with the fusion .21 But if you are running with a stock Thundertiger .21 motor these springs may cause the tranny to shift too soon and bog the motor down. These springs were designed to be used with the small high acceleration clutchbell style number U2491 it has 15-19-23 teeth on it. If you want your tanny to shift faster I reccomend that you get a more powerful motor than stock. If you want to delay your shift points you can do it by drilling holes in the pawls to lighten them. By lightening them it takes more centrifical force to over come the springs so the pawls come out at a higher rpm and engage the gear. I believe the tires are about 60mm wide??

ok ! I understand... which motor do you think its best for what I need it for: and will the new motor work with the optional gearing ?... and whats the ratio for the optional gearing do you know ?

Any of the top of the line NovaRossi.21 which I would get modded by RBMods for drag racing. I believe that the final gear ratio is 3.2

Thanks ... I think that rbmods have them pre-modded. will I need to get a motor mount ?

You need a 235mm body at the very least check with the Schumacher Superstore. This maybe the hardest part of your whole project finding a body wide enough to cover those tires!! Good luck.

If the owner of this car were to get the motor modified I bet he would be hitting close to 85 mph.:)

He can also do a tire change and a turbo head and he'll be darn close to 100

The Fusion in my post number 1026 was radar verified at 78mph. The highest was 82 mph radared verified in RC Nitro Magazine , now out of print. Their Fusion had a bumpstart chassis, modified Novarossi, foam tires.
