I have one and i've run stock and modified with a 700 motor .
If your content with the stock speed ( about 10-12 MPH ) it's a nice looking boat , but if you want a considerable increase in speed you have to go to the 700 motor on 12 cells .
BUT the hull can't handle the speed increase to well .
With the 700 it will go straight just fine , but don't turn at full speed .

Oh yeah , do a search for the Bladerunner on this forum and on http://www.rumrunnerracing.com you will find some good info .

You will have to build a motor mount for this motor because it's bigger and then the shaft is also bigger ( 5mm ) so the best thing to do is to change the entire drive system .
In my opinion , it's not worth all this unless you REALLY like this hull .
There are other boats out there that will handle better and go a little faster right out of the box . I think 15 + MPH .
I can't think of any right now , maybe someone can add their 2 cents .

Buy a trinity d5 14turn, get 7 cells and buy some ball bearings for the outdrive and the gear box and buy a 17 or 18 teeth pinion gear. You should reach about 20 mph or more with this setup.

I've done all that , it does not go that fast .
An 05 motor is not enough for a hull this large and the drive system is very inefficient .

My bladerunner used to experience torque role on 7 cells with a p94 and the torque role comes when the blade is approaching the mid 20's.

I am about to try my blade with a 34 teeth pinion which would make the prop spin more than the motor spins. I will try a high torque 550 motor and run 6 and 7 cells. I ran a monstermaxx pro on 7 cells direct with the red prop and I ran pretty fast in fact I tried a lehner basic 4200 and 7 cells and the monster maxx speed was not far off from what the lehner provided. What I am about to try should increase the speed with the monstermaxx.

just got back from running it it was very fun

but after my second charge of battery my prop fell off
the set screw on the last peice you put on the drive apperantly wasent tight enough i got back the prop but i couldent find the other piece

and it seemed faster than 10mph

im 13 so i dont have very much money to spend on this boat so i cant modify it very much this year

but im just wondering what would a stainless steal 3 blade prop do?

Yesterday I ran my blast with my lehner basic and I ran pretty fast but I also ran my bladerunner with the basic and there is no way the blast is as fast as my blade the blade is not much faster but it is faster than the blast and I mean using 6 cells each. This is run the blade direct using a universal joint coupler. And I can easily get over 20 mph with a monstermaxx direct and 7 cells.

The lehner basic is a brushless motor.

I tried one of those too that motor will run very slow using the gear box. I tried it direct using a universal joint coupler and it ran alright but it got very hot on 7 cells. If you use 6 cells it will not run fast. You can try a emaxx titan 550, probably a 30 teeth pinion 48 pitch and 8 cells. Towerhobbies sell all of these but you will need to do a search for the pinion and the motor. For the pinion search for 30 teeth pinion and for the motor search for titan 550 and the computer will do a search for you. You can order a great plane 8 cell battery or two 4 cell packs. The motor will with stand the heat and it should run alright.
