Here's a 2mb video of my stampede with a novak SS brushless motor running on a Promatch 7 cell matched side by side pack with one cell on the top. It's set up with 18/84 gearing which gives a final ratio of 12.69.It has 3 cooling fans, one on the battery, speed control, and the motor. We have clocked it at 49mph which is plenty and still get about 10-15 minutes of run time and everything stays nice and cool due to the fans.
That was me saying oh my god,my son was running the truck. After the flip somehow radio control was lost and it took off full throttle and crashed into a neighbors car.Lucky it hit head on and just wedged way under the car.I'll post some more videos when I get a chance.
Yeah it's the stock plastic slider yokes in it, and the only upgrade in the transmission is the alum idler gear. But I didn't use the deriln top gear I kept the steel one.I've never had problems with radio interference and it's stronger that way.I ran 6 cells for months and 7 cells for a week and have never had any tranny problems yet.It has traxxas big bores,5x11 bearing carriers and thats about it.It's the fastest and most durable truck my son and I have had yet.
Eventually you're going to snap the place where the plastic slider axle attaches to the wheel axle. You'll end up needing the the steel street sport axles, for future reference.
(I snapped those in a heart beat with 6 cells and a basic 5300.)
you'll need aluminum output yokes too, cause those are a pretty weak link also
speaking of which, I got some for sale if your interested lmk.
but yeah, that's one of the better Novak SS vids I've seen. I showed my friends (who just got rc's like a month ago) at school that vid, and they couldn't believe how a little kid could control a rc that was that fast lol
On 7 cells, my SS powered stampede hit a max of 37mph with 17/87 gearing. How did you pick up almost 13mph more than I did?
The math works out with the 5800 hitting 48000rpm with 8.4V, and the gearing figures would be right on the money, but this doesn't happen in real world testing.
