Novak SS in FT TC3

I am considering selling all my other rc cars to get a Novak SS brushless system in my TC3. My questions about this are:

1. ) First off, will the novak system fit with no mods?, lol
2. ) Can i run normal Ni-Cd batteries on the Novak SS system?
3. ) How are the runtimes on 2400 ni-cd batteries?
4. ) And what kind of gearing should i run with those specs?

any other comments are well appricated... i'm kinda new to this so any input would be welcomed

Thanks a bunch,
Stephen

Well, I can't tell you if the Novak will be a direct drop in but I would assume so. The motor will drop in for sure but the ESC may or may not (chances are it will though).

Normal NiCad's will work with the Novak SS. I run some of the Peak Racing powermax 2400's with mine (very cheap packs that work fine).

With my 2400's I get about 8-9 minutes of run time under race type conditions. 10-12 minutes with my GP3300's. Basically figure 10%-20% over that of a regular 10t brushed motor.

For a gearing chart go to www.teamnovak.com

I really love my Novak SS. It gives great power with virtually no maintenance. In a TC3 you should be spinning all 4 tires from a standstill with out much problem, it has tons of torque. With my GP3300's I'm getting around 35mph - 36mph top end.

I've only had one problem with my Novak and that was a blown bearing about 1.5 months after I bought it. I sent it in for warranty repair and they sent me a brand new ESC and Motor instead of just repairing the old one.

Overall it's a great product and I highly recomend it.

Have fun
