Trinity mini-truck foam tire adapters
Trinity's new wheel adaptors allows the use of foam touring tires on your Itsy Bitsy Spyder and Associated RC18, and also will fit the rear of the Team Losi Mini-T. "The perfect way to dial in your truck for carpet racing and an excellent way to use up all your old touring car tires!" says Trinity. Pretty cool.

Kinda clever, but way too much additional rotating mass for a vehicle that size if you want to be a serious racer. Much better off using purpose built foams, like from Losi or BRP.

but isn't there an advantage to having a super-low-profile foam tire on the large wheel? A slammed IB Spyder or 18T would rip around a road course with those TC foams, I should think. I'm no mini expert though.

I'm all for low-profile foams, they do indeed work, but the added rotating mass will nullify any gains you'd get from using them. If they were made of delrin, they might be worth using.

Run a brushless/lipo setup, and you'll have no problems with the foam tires!!

I don't understand how a few grams will make a foam tire have less traction. Also, the mass is located inward, so the effect of the added mass will be less than if it were a heavier rim and tire. I am sure the benefits will far outweigh the minimal weight gain.

Ah, screw it. That 12mm hex will take Rustler rims, so I'm gonna run them with Pro-Line Masher 2000 tires. With the increased rollout, I figure the truck will be good for 70mph, at which point monkeys will fly out of my butt.

Sa-weeeet.
You guys complaining about weight are nuts. The wheel is more narrow, thus it might just weigh the same or less than the purpose built mini wheels. I really think you guys are worried about theory way more than actual performance.
Also, what about the TONS of tire choices this opens up? You could run any 10 scale touring car, or stadium truck tire out there. ANY!!! Dang. Think about the ralley tires, street tires, different compounds... these adapters just multiplied your choices in tires and wheels about 10 fold.
I'm blown away by these. Sign me up.

I can't believe it took 3 posts for somone to suggest putting huge tires on it. Any jumbo kong adapters in the works? Maybe I can go to the junkyard and get some mud terrains, they working on those? The 10RPM@120mph would be sweet.

WOW!!! Someone over there has got ESP. Just a couple of weeks ago I was talking about how someone needs to come up with an adapter for these trucks so I can finish off the 100+ worn down tires from my TC. BAMM!!! there ya go... Thanks Trinity for hearing my thoughts!

Hmm, interesting, my SB uses standard touring hexes for its wheels as well, may look again at these mini vehicles.

Sooo where do we get these? The only adapters I can find are from CAW, and while they're sweet, I'm betting Trinity will be cheaper...
But if you can't be with the one you love honey, love the one your with.

I think these are great - now if only Trinity would build a front adaptor with bearings in it so you can run touring wheels on the Mini-T...
