Team Losi Heat Shield adhesive Nomex
Direct from Team Losi...

Team Losi now offers a “cool” new product to protect your lexan body or just about any chassis part from heat. Team Losi LOSA9343 “Heat-Shield” is made with genuine Nomex® aerospace fiber which is an excellent insulator that prevents heat from passing through it. The strong adhesive backing and flexibility makes it easy to stick to any clean surface. It can also be stuck to itself for added thickness and is easily used as a heat barrier for fuel tanks, shock absorbers, or wherever needed. Team Losi Heat-Shield has been used with great success on monster trucks, 1/10 stadium trucks and 1/8 on-road and off-road bodies where the hot exhaust pipe is extremely close to the painted surface. It has also shown to work well to repair body tears and around body mount holes. The LOSA9343 includes 40 square inches of this hi-tech Nomex® material in a flat sheet form with the adhesive protected with a peel-off film. Look for this and all genuine team Losi performance parts at hobby shops and racetracks worldwide.
LOSA9343 Heat-Shield Nomex® w/adhesive $5.00

Yeah, but it's not as high-tech as a piece of Team Losi's new Nomex aerospace fiber for $5.00 for 40 sq. inches!!!!

Aluminum foil would not hold up very well, though.

Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to use this yet and has anything (good OR bad) to share with the class...?

I haven't seen it out yet, but I would like to get some for my LST and use it where the exhaust touches the body. I'm sure it would help.

Yes it will, but probably not to the same extent as the Losi stuff. If your to cheap for that, then aluminum tape is really great. I use it all the time, especially since the bodies on my GT never seem to fit quite right, and sometimes touch the pipe. Its a lot more durable than just glued on Aluminum foil, and a lot less messy. Multiple layers can be applied as needed.
You can usually find this stuff at your local hardware store, and it looks like this.
