Serpent 960

In this picture we present the new front end of the Serpent 960. The S960 features new geometry front and rear as well as new front steering blocks. In this picture you can also get a closer look of the new RCC shock absorbers, the smoothest, easiest to build shocks ever designed.

As you can see from the picture the adjustable anti-roll bar is supplied as standard in the kit. And that’s not all the anti-roll bar on the new rear end of the Serpent 960 is ball raced for superior precision.

One of the truly innovative features of this car is the new braking system. Through the ball-raced brake cam 2 pins are moved horizontally to activate the brakes. Due to the horizontal action of the pins, and not the twist of the brake cam, all distortion in this area is removed and the brake pads are evenly clamped. Additionally to this the new system has been fixed to the bearing blocks and therefore does away with the need for chassis pins to block the movement of the inner most brake pad. This further adds to the precision of the braking system.

Serpent is pleased to confirm the rumours (read on the Internet and heard trackside) about their new 1/8th scale racecar.

Michael Salven has done the business by winning the German Nationals on the cars race debut to claim its first title.

In the Netherlands, Rick V, took the victory in Groningen in the north of Holland on its Dutch National championship debut. This is a clear indication of the capabilities of this new car.

Extensively tested, the Serpent 960 is an evolution of the multiple race-winning 950R, with enough changes to warrant a new series name. Whilst no one area has been drastically changed, every area has been improved resulting in better construction, stronger parts, ease-of-driving and ultimately quicker lap times as our tests have shown. Serpent, along with our team drivers, are so confident about the performance of the new S960 that we have decided to race it at the upcoming World Championships.

Serpent 960, a world beater.

I was in Groningen yesterday, and took a lot of pictures of RickV's new Serpent 960. Rick took TQ and won the race, and his teammate did the same in the German races (Michael Salven won with 9 laps in front of no. 2!!)

You can find about 50 uncut pictures of Rick-V's new Serpent 960 in this webalbum:
http://www.rc-junkies.nl/images/libr...960/index.html

I also filmed the third qualification heat of Rick-V, a 5 minute video (32mB):
