HPI takes on Baja with the Baja 5B
How would you like to strap into a Porsche-powered, race-prepped desert buggy for a four-day blast across Baja? HPI made that possible for us lucky stiffs of the RC press world, and it was an adventure of epic proportions. High speed driving with high-performance vehicles and real potential for peril (if you're not careful) adds up to a major dose of off-road excitement, and there were even stops for wheeltime with the Baja 5B and the new Hellfire race truck.
If that sounds like an adventure for you, visit http://www.wideopenbaja.com/ for the full promo package.

No vids yet! HPI has some stuff, we'll get it to coincide with the article I'm sure.

Hey Pete, how's your noggin? I heard that a certain magazine editor nearly killed you with his "extreme" driving talents!

LOL, no, that was Eric from HPI. But I don't want to steel anyone's thunder, let's let the driver tell his story in his mag! I gotta tell you, I'm jealous...after confirming he was ok, I said, "You bastard, now you have the better story!"

Well, I'm pretty sure the $3000 insurance deductible is like, what, two lease payments on an E55 AMG?

I gave him the perfect cover story for his wife. "Oh honey, by the way, I took $3000 out of the account so I could roll it over."

Peter, this was my all time favorite comment after the crash... I still giggle when I repeat that scenario in my head. Or perhaps the knock to the head is causing the giggle. I was going to send Mr. Extreme a couple of pictures of my neck X-rays, but with some minor editing to freak him out... Although he probably already is a little edgy when approaching immovable objects on his left
