Team Losi Triple-XT Sport RTR goes BRUSHLESS!

I was planning to post this at midnight since Team Losi's press release said "not for public viewing before March 27," but I just spotted the brushless XT at www.horizonhobby.com, so all bets are off! This is a big first for brushless. With the exception of some third-party companies doing conversions, this is the FIRST brushless RTR. But it won't be the last! --Pete
XXX-T Sport RTR II Brushless w/XR2i
Key Features
Proven XXX-T chassis
Novak SS4300 Sensored Brushless Motor and ESC (ROAR legal)
Factory-finished body
JR XR2i computer radio system with digital trims and 2-model memory
High-Torque Z-590M steering servo
Factory assembled and ready-to-run
Overview
Team Losi has always been at the cutting edge of design for both racing and sport models. The XXX-T RTR has distinguished itself to be one of the most popular electric Ready-To-Runs due to its racer inspired design and industry leading electronics. Team Losi now raises the bar yet another level with the XXX-T Brushless RTR, the first electric RTR equipped with a state-of-the-art brushless motor system. There is little doubt that brushless power is the future. With greater power, longer run time, better reliability, and much less maintenance, brushless offers more of everything the enthusiast wants. Until now, the only way to achieve this level of performance and reliability was considered costly. With Team Losi and Novak working together to offer this remarkable package the enthusiast can enjoy all of the benefits at only a fraction of the cost. The custom made Novak system includes the innovative sensor-based SS4300 brushless motor, which is ROAR approved. There is also a pre-programmed user friendly Super Sport based ESC with One-Touch Set-Up and Thermal Overload Protection. The ESC features two user-selectable profiles, one with reverse and one without for racing. Both options offer built-in drag and push brakes, which until now have not been available. The XXX-T Brushless RTR brings together the unique combination of a race-proven Team Losi chassis design, premium JR XR2i radio, and industry leading Novak brushless motor system. Best of all it all comes out of the box ready-to-run with a killer new trim scheme. Like all Team Losi RTR’s the XXX-T Brushless uses all genuine Team Losi replacement and performance parts.

Yep..Revolutionary stuff. I think this is finally going to get companies to reconize brushless. In order to keep up in the market they are going to have to make their own systems. Time for a 1/8 BL Truggy? Go losi!

Dude!!! That's awesome. This is definitely a big plus for me because I'm a brushless convert and I don't want to deal with buying a separate brushless setup whenever I buy a new vehicle. I can't wait to see what else might come out with brushless included!

$379.99 for RTR Brushless
$269.99 for RTR non-brushless
Not a bad price for what you are getting. A brushless setup will cost anywhere from $150.00 to $250.00,

Here is the direct link to the truck on Horizon's website:
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=LOSA0096
So can we assume now that Losi and Novak are close business partners like LRP and AE are now? How long before they are the same company?

Most of Losi's stuff is higher priced. Look at an RTR t4 (TH List at 244) vs XXX-T Sport RTR (HH list at 270).
All in all, the price of the truck plus a brushless system separately would be far greater than what their combined price is.

The 4300 is compariable to a stock 27t motor.
Maybe AE will one-up them and come out with a T4 with a Sphere Competition/Neo 4 combo!

The 4300 is more along the lines of a 19 turn spec motor from what I've gathered, but with more torque (you can gear higher).
This is interesting. Now let's see some lipo packs included with a charger now...

man I didn't even think about this..... These things are gonna be flyin off shelves like crazy!
Now I wonder how long it will take AE to come out with a brushless car, but with a slower brushless because the current "slowest" brushless motor by reedy is pretty fast.
Truthfully I don't really like Losi or Novak that much but I really want to try one of these out. Also, the body looks good it doesn't really look like it came in a rtr.

Yeah the SS4300 is slow by brushless standards. BUT...it's still better than any RTR brushed motor and with that ESC you can upgrade to the SS5800!! The SS5800 might be just too darn fast for the RTR market. But the potential to upgrade is there once you get some driving hours under your belt!

Sounds like a good way for Novak to get all those 4300's that are sitting in storage.
Either way, it's a great idea and smart business decision for Losi and Novak.

Look at the radios that each one comes with RTR t4 - Team Associated XP2 Radio vs XXX-T Sport RTR - JR XR2i Computer radio

Look at the motor's solder tabs. That's an upgraded motor. Also the ESC is called a 10.5. It might be weaker than the standard ss controller.
