Team Losi XXX-CR

Latest from www.teamlosi.com
New Team Losi “Competition Ready” XXX
Team Losi celebrates their 25th year of offering racers unmatched race proven designs and features with the release of the “XXX-CR” 2WD off-road racing buggy. The CR designation is a throw back to the Losi heritage offering “Competition Ready” kits incorporating innovative thinking, cutting edge design and unmatched material technology. The Team Losi engineering and development team have redesigned and revised a number of key elements for the XXX-CR to take full advantage of the latest generation of hi-performance motors, batteries, and tires. The CR also benefits from Team Losi’s exclusive new “EA3” composite material for more durability than any buggy you've ever driven. The unique combination of design, hi-tech components and materials lets the XXX-CR produce incredible acceleration and stability through the roughest track sections and tightest turns. The wide range of adjustability and predictable handling makes the XXX-CR even easier to drive fast.
Look for these exciting new features all included in the most advanced buggy kit ever offered:
●New VLA rear suspension arms with revised geometry
●Revised rear shock tower/bulkhead with more tuning options
●New symmetrical VLA type rear hubs with vertical ball studs
●New steering rack configuration for greater handling predictability
●New molded gear cover and plug for added protection
●Redesigned long-life differential requiring less maintenance
●Revised front shock tower with greater tuning options
●New “HD” heavy-duty ball studs with a hex in the head
●New battery strap with extra holding capacity for latest cells
●New tunable aero package – body, front and dual element rear wing
●Revised XXX transmission with 2.43 final drive ratio
●New Beefier Titanium turnbuckles and heavy duty grey ball cups
In addition to these new features look for Ti-Nitride shock shafts and hinge pins, hard anodized threaded shock bodies, suspension balls and top shaft, machined 7075 aluminum motor plate, ball bearing steering and other components simply not offered by any other manufacture.
The result is a feature packed competition kit that is unmatched for quality, content, and performance. Look for the XXX-CR to be showing up at racetracks and hobby shops worldwide this summer.
LOSA0032 XXX-CR 2WD Competition Buggy Kit est. street price $224.99

unfortunatley both of you are wrong, this is the old car setup, this is the same thing that most of the factiry guys have been running. XXX tranny with vla arms and such. Losi just finally came out with the production version.

So does this replace the BK2 or is it a lower end model than the BK2?

I was kinda thinking that. I've heard they're tweaking on a BK3 or whatever they're going to call it's equivilent.

This is the top end buggy for Losi now. Most team drivers were combining the xxxbk2, with bk1 tranny, with old cr parts, and such. This car just doesn't need all the mods required to do that. It's all done up and ready to go. This will be the new buggy and it looks just like what they ran at the Nats. (except they don't have the newer JRXS style shocks)

Bunsincunsin - you don't need to post the image tags twice. It seems like you've done this in all your posts. Just post an opening and closing image tag and those extra "IMG" tags won't appear.

I just got off the phone with Bill at Team Losi and this is now the top of the line buggy 100%. He told me for bashing you probably wouldn't notice a differance between the CR and the BK2, it's on the track where the CR shines above the BK2

it will shine above the BK2 but not above the B4 lol I just had to say that but atleast it's "street price" is down from the BK2 which I thought was outragious especially when the B4 I could get for $50 less.
I'm suprised this thread isn't thriving with posts. I mean it's a new Losi! and you don't exactly get a 2wd buggy from losi everyday.

And it took AE what, 5 years to come out with the B4? No, it's not every day we get a new Losi, but I'm surprised more people aren't still talking about the B4. It's not every decade Team Associated brings out a new product.
As for the price thing...it's $20 less than what the BK2 sold for. My LHS sold the BK2 for $245. And no, you can't buy a comparably equipped B4 for $50 less. You can get the Team B4 for $45 less. The Factory Team B4 (the one every racer buys) is the same price as the BK2, give or take 10 bucks depending on the shop. Essentially they were the same price. At $225 for the new one, they're still essentially the same price. 10% difference is $25 for sure, but do you think any AE guy who's looking for a new buggy is going to switch to Losi because it's slightly cheaper? I think not.
As for the durability of ANY of the AE or Losi off-road buggies and trucks...don't hit stuff. I drove my BK2 twice a week for four months in novice and then stock buggy, and I never broke a single graphite part. Drive within your limits and the car doesn't break. Drive slow, learn the fast lines, then increase your speed. You'll be a better, cleaner, more popular racer if you do that rather than throw it on the track, grab full throttle, and don't let off until you're upside down or broken. You'll also improve and move up in the ranks a lot faster too.

Thats true, but where i used to race onroad with all my trucks, the turns are alot sharper and harder concrete curbs sometimes and thats where the damage would be doing since couldnt make sharp turns. but if a ae person was always a ae person why would they change for a coupleof dollars. i find that true, nicely said metalry

Concrete curbs would do it...and if it's a tight track, I can definately see how you'd hit them every once in a while, especially when you're new to racing.

Was about to retire my XX-CR - guess I can step straight into the XXX-CR (don't laugh, with the wide front wheels & double slipper clutch the XX-CR is still competitive out here in Bumpkinville)

I wasn't saying that it would make anybody change over just because it was cheaper price then the BK2 I was just saying it was cheaper. and I can get a FT B4 from ultimatehobbies.come for $200 and a regular Team B4 for $175 or something like that off of Towers. I can also get the FT B4 for $210 at my LHS which is $35 less then anywhere I've seen the BK2 for. but truthfully I would buy one of these just to try it out if I had the money but I deffinetly don't.
