Yes, no question about it, Barry & a couple of the others have already filled us in(on another site), the next AE car WILL be belt-driven, & the cars they ran in the Reedy race are the prototypes(& they plan to keep working on them & racing them). Barry said they were changing setups on them the entire weekend(different setup every run), & by the end of the event they were starting to get a lot more comfortable with it, felt they should be in good shape for the Nationals. But as for when the new car will go into production, there's no way of knowing now, could be by Christmas, could be in another year, as they've always said, "it'll be ready when it's ready".....

Brent Thielke (the AE team Manager) isn't that old! Maybe in his late 20's.

AE will probably make it look just like the T2, 415, etc.

This should be interesting.... I wonder what they'll call it?
The front bumper mount and shock towers looks very similar to the TC4's, unless they ARE the ones from the TC4...
The first two pics make it look like it was some sort of spy operation to get a few snaps of the car or something

Oh common I just bought a TC3 I don't want to be 2 generations behind now... lol. I'm suprised they are already this far on a new car I mean they just realised the TC4. Well it's not been very long campared to how long it took to come out with the TC4. I still like the idea of a shaft driven car thought it's JMO though.

Indeed, The TC4 did take awhile to come out...but it only makes sense, as the TC3 was doing fine for what, 5 years? I guess they took the "if its a winning car why change it?" approach.

yep look at that, fuzzy pics of 4 wheels and maybe belts.. It must be an xray ripoff.... maybe they should go with 7 wheels, the motor on the hood of the car, and power it with a flux capacitor.. that'd be different...

well when you take as long to come out with a new tc as ae did, and its not an improvement over what everyone else had come up with over that long time span, what else do you expect them to do, they aren't winning with what they have now...

It'll be interesting to see what the learning curve will be on that thing with setup, etc.
Guys who have been tuning and running the TC4 will be whuppin' up on guys who immediately go out and buy the new one for a good while until they figure out how to get the most out of it for their track.
So will guys who are still fast with their TC3's.

I can't wait for this car. On pavement, I think the TC4 is pretty close, if not just as fast, as the Tamiyas, the XRAYs, etc. On carpet, the belt cars from XRAY and Corally seem to have a significant advantage. It will be nice to see AE back in the hunt at the big carpet races.
I laugh at the idea that people are already saying it looks just like this or that. Come on! They all generally look the same! Put four tires, two belts, one motor and six cells on a slab of graphite and how different can they look?

cool, this will be nice to see AE doing the same thing that the yokes and tamiya camps are doing, offering both shaft and belt driven TC's.

The 415 from Tamiya came before the Xray FK05
