I think it's great that a company is putting up money for using it's product, but the A main? It's the same 10 people every time, of which are already sponsored.

How about a contingency for non-sponsored drivers?

Remember, the point is to offer cash not as a thank-you for winning, but as an enticement to buy an engine. If you win, you then become a promotional tool for Rad RC. There isn't much benefit if Rad has an ad that says "Unsponsored guy wins G-Main with Rad power!" They want to show potential customers Rad engines in the A-Main--whether the driver is sponsored or not. Rad RC isn't dissing unsponsored guys or favoring sponsored guys, they just want the engines to win races.

I totlaly agree, some Joe gets his power from the LHS and goes to the race and takes all. I can see the headline's in RCCA.

In order to get the money you have to use their engine, so sponsered drivers are out of the running unless the use their engine.

It's all about getting people to try the engines. After that, the engine sells itself.

I think something like this happened with a fuel company. A top driver switched fuel just for that race (thinking white lightning?) and won the $10,000 prize. Im pretty sure I read this in rcca.
