Traxxas revamps Stampede and Rustler

Latest from www.traxxas.com

Available July 17th

The New Traxxas Stampede®
Rock-Crushing Torque!

Titan® 12-Turn 550 Motor
30+mph with 7-cell battery and included optional 23-tooth pinion gear.
25mph with 6-cell battery and stock installed pinion.

Powerful XL-5 Electronic Speed Control

The best-selling Stampede was the first high-performance monster truck and it's legendary ruggedness has made the Stampede name synonymous for monster truck driving fun.

Today, the Stampede has a hot new look, innovative new features, and of course, more power to boost the fun quotient even higher. Combine the increased horsepower with the tall, drive-over-anything ground clearance; ultra-tough suspension; and easy operation, Stampede will quickly become your favorite for all kinds of monster truck action. Stampede is still the first name in high-performance monster trucks.

The Stampede is one monster truck that doesn’t know when to quit! Crushing cars, catching big air, and popping wheelies have never been this much fun. There is no other truck available that offers Stampede’s unique style, capability, and reputation for durability. When it comes to speed, the Titan 12-turn 550 modified motor and racing-style Magnum 272* transmission propel the Stampede to speeds over 30mph*. The integrated cooling fan in the Titan 12T pulls air through the motor keeping it cool. Airflow is routed through cooling channels molded into the motor plate. A cooler running motor delivers faster speeds, longer runtime, and extended motor life.

Stampede benefits from it's family lineage incorporating advanced Revo® technology to bolster performance. The Magnum 272 transmission is fully sealed and comes equipped with efficient and precise ball bearings and an advanced Revo®-spec Torque-Control* slipper clutch. Revo-spec Talon* 2.8" tires provide sure-footed traction no matter how extreme the terrain is. The aggressive Talon tires are pre-glued and mounted on bold 2.8" All-Star* mirror-chrome wheels. Based on the proven Revo Talon tires, the versatile 2.8" Talons grip the pavement, tear through rocks, and have the ability to kick-up massive roosts. The tires include performance-tuned foam inserts that provide extra stability on any surface.

To harness the power of the 12-turn motor, Traxxas bolted in the new high-performance XL-5 electronic speed control. With ultra-smooth, high-frequency operation and high-power handing capability, the XL-5 makes the Stampede as fast as it looks. EZ-Set* one-button setup makes it easy to adjust or change profiles. Traxxas' exclusive Training Mode* profile cuts total power output in half and leaves the brakes at full strength. It’s the first controller of its kind that has a 50% power profile. Training Mode is designed for young or first time drivers that want to learn the ropes before unleashing the full power of the mighty Titan 12T motor. This makes the Stampede perfect for almost any age driver or skill level.

The Stampede comes fully loaded with innovative performance options like a fiber-composite chassis designed for exceptional rigidity and enormous ground clearance. Battery removal is made easy by the quick-release battery hold down latch. In addition, the factory-installed planetary differential never needs adjusting! Just take the Stampede out of the box, charge up a battery, and go have fun! If you’re looking for an all-terrain truck that is perfect for monster bashing or wheelie-popping thrills, look no further. Stampede is all you need. Hot new Stampede graphics are available in black, red, gunmetal, or blue. Traxxas ProGraphix* bodies are known for their stunning looks and long-lasting durability, and they are exclusively found on Traxxas Ready-to-Race® vehicles.

with TQ* radio, XL-5 ESC and ProGraphix painted body

Available July 17th

The New Traxxas Rustler®
More Power, More Fun!

35+mph* Top Speed with 7-cell battery and included optional 28-tooth pinion gear.
30+ mph with 6-cell battery and stock installed pinion.
Titan® 12-Turn 550 Modified Motor
New XL-5 Electronic Speed Control
Number-1 selling 1/10 Stadium Racer

The best-selling Traxxas Rustler is a proven favorite with a formula for rugged fun that nothing else can touch. The new Rustler blows the doors off the competition with more power, smoother control, better grip, and performance that makes it the fastest Ready-To-Race® electric truck available. The Rustler rips off-road with its powerful new Titan® 12-Turn modified 550 motor, new XL-5 Electronic Speed Control, and Revo®-spec Torque-Control* slipper clutch. It’s made for power-sliding, full-throttle, off-road action and aggressive driving fun. With a top speed of 35+mph*, Rustler simply leaves everything else back on the work bench.

Only Traxxas could put this kind of performance, innovation, and overall value into a Ready-To-Race package that delivers the satisfaction you expect from a high-performance electric stadium truck. Speed, durability, and stunning looks are what make the Traxxas Rustler a cut above the rest. Traxxas’ forward thinking and “no-nonsense” approach brings you the most performance for your RC investment. Whether you’re at the park or on the track, the Rustler delivers sophisticated performance and handling that makes the race track anywhere you want to drive.

The Rustler is 100% Ready-To-Race® right out of the box, and is fully loaded with innovative performance features such as the advanced Revo-spec Torque-Control* slipper clutch. The patent-pending design delivers smooth operation, precise adjustment, and consistent traction control. The Titan 12T 550 modified motor is designed for incredible mod-motor power output with virtually maintenance-free operation, and long-lasting performance. The Titan 12T 550 motor’s integrated cooling fan pulls cool air through the motor to keep temperatures down. Airflow is routed through vent tunnels molded in the motor plate. A cooler running motor equates to faster speeds, longer runtime, and extended motor life.

What would the best-selling stadium truck be without a class-leading high-performance electronic speed control? The XL-5 Electronic Speed Control offers high current handling, EZ-Set* one-button setup, and smooth high-frequency control. Three drive profiles, thermal shutdown protection, gold-plated connectors, and incredibly low resistance are all features you might expect to only be available on an expensive replacement ESC. The XL-5 is the first electronic speed control that has the exclusive Traxxas Training Mode* that limits full-throttle power to 50%. This allows young or new drivers to safely develop their control skills before unlocking full power to the mighty Titan 12T motor. Rustler is perfect for drivers of any age and experience.

Traxxas didn’t stop there. Rustler’s durable, fiber-composite chassis is designed for exceptional rigidity, and offers an inline battery position for a low polar moment of inertia. That’s engineering speak that translates into nimble handling and lightening-fast response. The low-profile “lay-down” steering servo mounting system further enhances the Rustler’s already low CG design. Rustler delivers superior stability and cornering thanks to its centered kingpin and live axle front suspension. Transmitting the power to the wheels is an efficient 3-gear variable-ratio transmission, topped off with sealed ball bearings and smooth-running telescoping driveshafts. In addition to those advanced features, the factory-installed planetary differential is Traxxas-tough with hardened steel gears that never need adjusting! Perfect for long-lasting, all-day fun. Just take the Rustler out of the box, charge up a battery, and drive!

Rustler sports a stunning new 6-color ProGraphix* body and decal set. At the corners you’ll find a set of bold 2.8" mirror-chrome All-Star* wheels wrapped with performance-engineered tires, pre-glued, of course. The precision-engineered tread patterns and rubber compounds were designed to meet the performance requirements of the 65+mph Traxxas Jato (Nitro) so they are sure to provide Rustler with excellent traction. Alias* dual pins at the rear and sharp-edged ribbed tires up front hug the corners for a solid, planted feel.

Traxxas backs the Rustler and all of their products with top-notch support that is second to none. A staff of skilled representatives is on-hand to answer your questions via phone, website, or email. Unmatched parts support allows Rustler to be serviced with parts and support from thousands of hobby dealers worldwide. Traxxas goes the extra mile to ensure that your RC experience is easy and fun. Same with my Rusty... EH!

I wish they'd revamp the transmission though. That'd be nice.

Looks good. Can you adjust the body height on the stampede? The body looks a little to high IMO.

Awesome!!! It seems that most new parts will work on the original Stampede, if I felt like upgrading. I don't know about the slipper clutch though.

I kind of do wish they changed other stuff like the transmission, as mentioned above, and maybe wider arms or something. But overall I think the new trucks look sweet and they're a good continuation of the Pede/Rusty dynasty! Thumbs up Traxxas!

Another shot:

Also note that the gearbox's "heel" is thicker where it will have to take wheelie- and jump-landing abuse. --Pete

I guess you can kiss multiple spur gear options (kimbrough, hpi, etc.) goodbye with that new 48 pitch spur. Hopefully it's an improvement.

Now, this is exciting. I'll plan to get both.

Is that "550" motor a misprint? 550?

The Stampede is one of the most fun vehicles I have. The one I have has a strong modified motor and LiPo batteries and it's as tough as nails. Same as my Rustler. These things are much, much fun to jump.

It's exciting to think what will be coming for the E-Maxx (though it probably won't be a big surprise...).

(And, uhh... would you like to see a 3.3 Rustler?)

Wow they do look nice. I am upgrading my RC18T now, but may get one of these. I wonder if they will upgrade the electric 4 Tech and the E-Maxx as well.

Finally

Finally!

It seems that a manufacturer is releasing a new nitro ever day but the electric fans are being left in the dark. I always had a soft spot for the Stampede and it was my favourite truck in my stable before some SOB stole it.

Roll on 17th July. Anyone hear what the RRP is going to be?
