Trinity Blade 1/18 mini goes BRUSHLESS with help from Mamba

Trinity's Blade 1/18 micro truck is already available as a rolling chassis or brushed-motor RTR (more info here: http://www.teamtrinity.com/shop/kits/blade.html), and there will soon be a brushless-motor RTR joining the line! Castle Creation's Mamba speed control is included, and the motor is Trinity's new Cobalt B. No top speed specs yet, but the brushless Blade will likely be the fastest 1/18 RTR available.

great to see brushless has gone mainstream enough to make its way into a RTR package.

Yea brushless is taking over, now I will have to change my brushed systems to brushless systems. j/k Thats great that they are taking over as it gives you more options.

Not really. Take computers for example, when dual-core processors were new, they were expensive. They have only depreciated slightly, so they're still expensive.

But anyways when brushless becomes actually "mainstream", or another technology is superior to it, it will drop price.

Obviously, the brushless system parts aren't exspensive, it's the technology. Since Mamba has already mastered the technology, they can "de-tech" it so that all of their hard work to originally design it isn't going throught the drain. It is also a sales tactic aimed at the people how buy this car. If the sport version goes this fast, I wonder how fast the Competition "X" will go? It is like a guarenteed sale. But I do have to agree with everyone that brushless is going down in price as a whole.

This isn't the sign of a new era in r/c cars guys. This is a sign that Trinity can't move their 1/18 truck despite a redesign, despite renaming it, despite...well...everything. This is a desperate attempt to actual sell more than 3 1/18 trucks a year with their name on it. It might be a cool truck...I dunno, and don't care. I wouldn't buy a Trinity vehicle no matter the price, no matter the performance. They've never had the parts support for their vehicles that they should and until they prove that they'll have parts available, and at reasonable prices, I won't buy one, ever, for any reason. I'll buy their electric motors, and I'm sure their batteries are awesome if you can stomach the price premium you pay for the name, but I won't buy a Trinity vehicle. I'm not trying to badmouth Trinity necessarily...their products are very good for the most part, but for those of you who don't know, they don't have parts support for their kits. If you're considering this truck, save yourself the headache. Buy an RC18, buy a Mamba brushless, have a good time. Parts are available and will be for decades to come, everywhere. AE ALWAYS supports their cars, even after they're discontinued.

Ya...I still remember that ad. An ad against brushless that was made to look like an actual article in the magazine, and now they sell brushless. Ironic...yes...but I can deal with that. I still haven't, and won't ever for that matter, forget that ad or what a sour taste it left in my mouth. Trinity is forever on my list of companies that I try not to support. I run their motors because if you want to be competitive in stock, you have to, but as for anything else they make, I won't buy it.

they have the worst customer support out of any big RC company in my opinion.it may be fast or w/e but its not goign to be long until a better company makes a brushless mini or something. i would rather go for a car by losi(like the XXX-T) or associated. maybe if traxxas ever got into it, they would make something "revolutionary?" its bound to be soon though.

If you look at the pic, it looks like the motor is the Trinity Cobalt B BL motor. When trinity announced this motor, they said that it will work with the Mamba 25 ESC. So instead of designing their own ESC, looks like they will just include them with the kit.

im afraid this is false now with the new intel core 2 duo's which is forcing amd to lower its prices now dual core is very affordable
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ice=&maxPrice=
i dont have a link for the core 2's but look em up on google they are the best and very affordable

id say once the companies all start having brushless rtrs they will go down in price or they will stay the same price and just keep getting better and better

Novak just recently release a BL motor that is supposed to have stock brushed motor performance and speeds. I wonder if that is ROAR approved, will this be the end of brushed stock motors? Brushed stock motors seem to be Trinity's bread and butter right now because currently they don't have any big names running their mod motors, but they are successful with the CO27.

It's not a coincidence that the Trinity motor has the same KV rating as the Castle Creations motors. Trinity, Castle, and Tekin all buy their motors from the same place. I know Castle makes their own controllers, and IMO, they're the best out there, hands down. I believe Tekin makes theirs as well, and while I've heard that their systems aren't as fast as Castle Creation's, despite the same KV motors, their controllers are supposed to be pretty cool and have a few unique features of their own. Trinity just wants to cash in on this brushless trend with the 1/18's so they bought someone's motor and put their stick on it and resold it.

I think it's more comparable to a 19 turn or so.

why would mamba actully put there speed controller on such a bad looking machine it dosent even look fit enough to house the power of the brushless system. why wouldent mamba strike a deal with AE or some other company that makes a half decent car

IMO, that shell is the most absurd thing I've ever seen...I understand that they have to make room for the front shocks, but that's just ridiculous. Other than that the truck looks sound...although the words "Trinity" and "brushless" in the same sentence still make me laugh because of their famous ad, lol.
