The truck is gorgeous.
However.....
The front body mounts look MSR ish, as in cheap add on. I strongly suggest at least going with a STR type 'slap on some plastic', as at least it looks planned.
I cannot wait to see what the PRO truck looks like!
Next season I am planning to run buggy and truggy, maybe a Matrix PRO buggy and truggy could fit the bill?

That body is the actual production body. Also, if you look carefully, NO WINDOW STICKER...... i.e. clear windows

I think the only thing I am unsure of is the body but thats from a looks perspective. Probably works great on the truck.
I wonder how well those braces will work out? if they don't do the job, hate to imagine going to aluminum with all that weight so high up.
I was pretty impressed with there Matrix buggy from its build, felt very much high quality. If they had this out sooner I may have bought this instead of what I have now.

the only thing i dont like is the HUGE spur gear, i would have much rather seen a little spur and re-geared diffs, but other than that, it looks killer, i'm so glad they kept the braces from the front/rear diffs to the center diff, with the long chaisisi and big wheels, standard buggy braces dont work for trucks, i had to make up a brace similar to that for my TTR St-1 to keep the chaisis flex from killing servos,

Thanks for the comments guys. The Matrix Arena Tr is coming along well.
FYI: The Spur Gear size vs re-gearing the differentials has been somewhat of an internal debate here at CEN Racing and we have tested both methods extensively. Over time it was completely obvious which path we wanted to go. The larger spur gear worked not only better over time, but believe it or not provided faster lap times. The differential wear was extensively less without re-gearing it thus prolonging the life of the entire drive train, by using the larger spur gear. I personally have always been all for LCG when it comes to my race cars etc. But the Truggy is a new vehicle to the industry in a whole, and Im sure that not only are we learning new things about it but many other companies are learning how to make truggies faster.
For one there is much more traction / tire surface contact than a 1/8th buggy. Along with a much longer wheel base, width etc. This greatly effects the trucks mobility. With the wheel base long and a wide truck with more tire touching the surface.... you have TONS of stability and traction right off the bat. Getting the truck to rotate through turns fast and consitantly is going to be the key. I can tell you that using the larger spur gear has given the Matrix Arena Tr much more corner speed. Thus making it a faster truck. I truly look forward to the release of this product.
Thanks again for your comments guys n gals.

I really like the new truck but I had a few questions when I first saw the pictures. The plastic braces are cool looking but will they work since they are not connected to the chassis at ant point. Will the pro kit have the machined braces? Will the Matrix braces work on this truck? What about the radio tray, will there be a machined one as a hop up? I really like the truck and can not wait to see the pro version. If CEN could answer these questions, that would be great.

the braces are conneceted indirectly to the chasiss, throguh the diffs, this set up works way better than the traditional braces, its similar to the top deck of a touring car, like i said in my other post, i made a set of braces like that for my truggy, and it works sooo much better than the traditional style brace, because i tired that too and still had alot of chaisis flex, but once i made the brace up i had zero,
and actually i'd imagine the plastic ones will work better than a set of machined ones would, because with the plastic you will still get a little flex, so the truck will be easier to drive, where if they were machined there would be absolutly no flex, and it would make the car harder to drive, similar to the problems people had with the box chaisis on the TTR S3

You are right about the braces as some flex is good. I belive that there is an Xray touring car that was designed around the idea of chassis flex, the T2 I believe. I was looking at the braces from a durability aspect but I'm sure they will hold up fine. It was just confusing as the Matrix buggy had machined braces and the truggy has plastic ones. I wonder if they will carry them over into the pro kit. Those braces would look awsome in carbon fiber but it would be very expensive to make them in that shape, hey you never know, go for it CEN!

Since this is the production body, will the wingstay height be raised? As it is shown, the rear of the body is higher than the leading edge of the wing.
And why 23mm hexes? Many are going to 17mm. Kinda hoped that would be the new standard...

Perhaps read the thread and look at the picture, which both state that the body holes have not been made yet, and the body is just sitting on top of the truck.

Hey, many other folks out there agree with you! Size matters! (Just take a look at the new GST 7.7!) Besides, why pay up to 600 bucks for a buggy on steroids!

I don't question their quality, just personally don't really want a truggy. I do however, as I said above, like that new GST 7.7!
