ADDED PICS! 2006 Monster Madness

The CEN guys did great, winning 1/8 buggy (Andrew Smolnick, center) and Truggy (Andrew again). CEN also TQ'd buggy thanks to Chris Sytsma (right) and Big Block Monster with Jason Ashton at the wheel (left). Jason also TQ'd truggy but broke in the Main.

Traxxas scored one-two in Big Block Monster with the Revo as Steve Slayden (center) and fellow Texan Mike Battaile (left) tore up the tricky track layout. Mike also won in 2WD Gas Truck, showing what the Jato can do on a racetrack.

Steve Slayden broke while leading the Small Block Monster Main, handing the lead off to the Revo of hard-charging Mark Cordeiro. This kid can wheel!

Steve's small-block Revo digs in. Those tires are workin'!

Mike Battaile leads out the field.

Our friend Jack Bonhomme went big and raced his Maxx 6-wheeler. He qualified 3rd in the Small Block B-Main, that thing moved out pretty good!

Jack airs out the big sixxer.

Long Island's Backbreaker crew came out to race, matching shirts and all. These guys represent! From left to right: Miga, Don Peters, Sean Lauer, George Fabbiani, Kevin Colgan and Rock. Just Rock.

Paul Coleman and Matt Kearney of Axial confer before hitting the track.

Paul's Robitronic Mantis, ripping it up. Love that super-slammed body.

CEN's Chris Sytsma and his TQ Matrix

Andrew Smolnick's winning Arena TR in action.

Mike Cronin used A123 Systems Li-Ion cells to power his winning Gorillamaxx Revo in Electric Monster Truck

Still more pics on the way!

It was a three hour drive each way for me and my team. But it was all worth it.

PeterV you walked by suckfish racing like 30 times with your camera; no problem though our yellow shirts weren't as clean as those New Yorker guys; we were busy kicking butt on the track.

Nice pics-----

Peter ... i race the Tamiya TNX PRO Monster Truck and im very frustrated with Tamiya not even giving more detailed information about the new truck (specially things that most racers dont like about it), specially thinking on the release date wich its by the end of this month ...

So ... do you REALLY thing Tamiya will bring us a better truck as an evolution of the TNX ? ...

We'll just have to wait and see. But remember, the basher market is still bigger than the racing monster market, so don't be surprised if the next TNX is built more for backyard abuse rather than low lap times.

FYI - Although it's Mike Cronin's GorillaMaxx Revo conversion, it was Joe Young driving it with the A123Racing battery packs. Both were racing for RC-Monster.com.

Thanks for you opinion Peter ... but the TNX its already a great Racer ... i think the main change we as TNX racers are looking for are sealed diffs ...

I can see why they might do that , but since the regular TNX has been so successful on the track I would think they would build upon that. Plus the 5.2r TNX comes with race tires , dish wheels, and a 4 shock setup. That seems to me like they are leaning toward the racing end of it. Lets just hope they resolve non adjustable gear mesh.

I may be the only one to think this, but wouldn't it be neat if Traxxas made a Steve Slayden Revo kit, you know, like Losi does? He certainally wins enough to deserve it. (Besides, I really just want a Revo chassis to get a big block kit for! )
