Latest from www.teamlosi.com
Team Losi 8IGHT Now An RTR
Team Losi revolutionized nitro off-road racing with the introduction of the 8IGHT. Its long list of innovative design concepts and unequalled features has earned the highest ratings by magazines and racers worldwide. Now this same track tested and race proven design can be had as a Ready-To-Run model with the most powerful RTR engine and one of the world’s best radio systems available – bar none! The LOSB0081 8IGHT RTR is fully assembled with Team Losi’s exclusive “TL427” Hi-Performance big block engine and the incomparable Spektrum DX2 spread spectrum radio system. Team Losi’s handy Spin-Start, glow-driver, rechargeable receiver pack and charger are also included to complete the package. The 8IGHT RTR offers most of the same features, design, and quality components of the racing model like a centrally located engine, narrow chassis configuration, oversized hard anodized threaded shocks, captured hinge pins, clutch, staggered dual disk brakes,
4mm thick chassis, hard anodized suspension balls, and sealed front and rear differentials. The TL 427 engine is a proven performer that is exceptionally easy to tune and with the included tuned exhaust system provides remarkable raw horsepower and stump pulling torque. The included Spin-Start brings it to life with the push of a button making it extremely user friendly. The Spektrum DX2 radio is simply unmatched in performance and reliability. The signal is interference free and there is no need to have or understand the use of frequency crystals making it perfect for the beginner or racer alike. The steering servo features precision metal gears for outstanding strength and performance. The unequalled combination of race proven design, durability, hi-performance engine, industry leading radio, and full accessory package make the 8IGHT RTR truly remarkable and easily the leader in 1/8 nitro RTR’s. The bar has been raised. Look for the 8IGHT RTR to appear at racetracks and hobby shops worldwide in time for Christmas.

Im sooooooooo going to buy one of these Looks nice! Im mainly runnning electric so i dont want to buy the 8ight kit along with all the nitro startup equipment again. This looks like it will be a great deal as a racer/basher. That way if there isnt enough people to run electric i can run nitro
Plus I LOVE the design of the buggy.

What are the differences between the team version and this RTR? I love the fact that it comes with spektrum and says it has most of the race parts.

I don't know about the kit age being over - I hope that's not true I really like putting together my vehicles, but I'm actually glad that Losi is releasing the RTR. Hopefully they're planning on using the profits from that to develop a pro-level truggy.

Thats awesome! but i do think people should make more kits. Losi is doing a great job right now though! I think why kits are decreasing is because now there is only the pro kits, and then the rtr's. Where are the Just regular kits that don't have a high price point? I think mid-level kits should come with engines and just leave the radios for you to choose. Like the savage x ss. Sorry for getting off topic JMO

i think losi should get the pro kits to customers before they go announcing something like this stating that they "revolutionized offroad racing". dont get me wrong i like the buggy (might buy a pro for next season) but at least get one car onto the market before worrying about another.

Horizen owned??????
I just bought a sportwerks turmoil and it seems to have the same radio. I wonder if they are almost the same buggy?????? The RTR Turmoil is unreal it rated well in the lastest radio control car action. I may not be a pro or anything but I raced 1/10th scale stadium trucks for a long time and when I first drove this turmoil let me tell you it is awesome!!! But the only reason that I did not get the Eight was the pric was a little high for me.

Thats another thing that the Turmoil RTR came with the Spektrum radio, the Losi drill starter, and the glow ignitor that comes with the Losi xxx-nt RTR. I wander if the Losi
Eight RTR come eith all the same stuff????

The turmoil and eight are not the same car. Sportwerks is a horizon brand, so is Losi, two different entities owned by the same company. Jr and Spektrum are also Horizon proprietaries, thus both the turmoil and losi rtr has the same radio.

They are actually not similar at all. The Sportwerks is like any other 1/8th scale buggy. There is nothing new or remotely different than other RTR's. The Losi is a step in a new direction with a whole bunch of innovative features: narrow chassis, engine along the buggies centerline, oversized shocks, staggered brakes, etc. Just check out there website or the thread on the 8ight kit to see what I mean.

The shock towers are paper thin. Does that mean it comes with a thin chassis also? That stuff will get tweaked the first time out. You will end up spending 3x more for an RTR than with the pro just fixing stuff.

The product is nice but the cost of these things are out of control. Its nice that all of these nice radios and such are being included in the RTR cars/trucks but the starting price is killing me. I would rather buy the car and add the hop ups as I can afford them. That way people like myself can have a top of the line car and still be able to eat at the track. Im not trying to start a flame war here but look at the estimated price of this thing.

The spekrum system is an amazing product and even if the Jammin RTR is less, you cant beat the electronics this thing comes with. Ive always been a Kyosho man but may consider racing this next season, (if i can afford)

First weekend out with my Jammin RTR I bent a shock tower and tweaked the chassis. I spent $190 on upgrades the first week. It needs way better servos and the radio sucks.
I think that Losi RTR would be good for a pro that never wrecks.
