Team Losi Nitro Off-Road Winterchamps
Truggy and 1/10 Gas winner Adam Drake
1/8 Buggy winner Mike Truhe
The innaugural running of Team Losi's new nitro nats saw some sticky weather, changing track conditions and lots of intense racing action. Team Losi was in force (of course), and the CEN crew made it to the show as well as other notables including Axial's Paul Coleman, Associated racer JR Mitch, J Concepts hero Jason Ruona, and Kyosho's Ryan Eckert.
The Hurricane RC club did a fantastic job of running the event and maintaining the challenging track, and I think it's fair to say no one went home from this race dissapointed. Expect it to be even bigger and better next year--I'll be back!
WINNERS
FACTORY GAS TRUCK
Adam Drake (Team Losi XXX-NT AD2)
Mike Truhe (Team Losi XXX-NT AD2)
JR Mitch (Associated GT2)
1/8 TRUGGY
Adam Drake (Team Losi 8IGHT-T)
Travis Amezcua (Team Losi 8IGHT-T)
Ryan Eckert (Kyosho 777 ST)
1/8 FACTORY BUGGY
Mike Truhe (Team Losi 8IGHT)
Adam Drake (Team Losi 8IGHT)
Travis Amezcua (Team Losi 8IGHT)
PRODUCTION MONSTER TRUCK
JJ Turk (Traxxas Revo)
SPORTSMAN GAS TRUCK
Andrew Moore
David Farmer
Charlie Brown
(Hmmm, I'm missing a few of the A-Main sheets--I'll fill in the Sportsman Buggy and Prod Monster blanks later).
Travis Amezcua battled bad luck in qualifying but bumped his way into the A-Mains
The Huricane crew did a great job all weekend. Here, tarps are dragged out as rain clouds moved in on Saturday night.
Adam Drake, awesome on the track. With a paint can, not so awesome.
After a run in the post-rain goop, this truck is ready for a bath.
The track's clay soil turned slick and sloppy when wet, but grooved up as it dried into a rock-hard, high-traction surface.
Travis Amezcua's 8IGHT-T in action.
Chris Sytsma's CEN Matrix Pro on track.
The CEN boys put a grip of Arena TRs into the truggy A-Main. From left to right: Chris Sytsma, Andrew Smolnick, Gene Hickerson and Kyle Sokol.
JR Mitch was fast with his Associated GT2, qualifying 5th and finishing 3rd.

Drake is awsome with anything! Give him a mini-t and i'm sure he could still give anyone with a >.21BB a whoopping!
Does anyone know what kind of tires and foams they were running? I've tried running Bties on that clay stuff, and has shite luck.

By the looks of it they may have been running Pro-Line Crime Fighter MTR's and maybe PL Hole Shot MTR's?
I'm probably wrong though...

I would say they are holeshots if I had to guess, and I wuldn't be suprised if the Drake had prototype taper pins, they kind of look like them in the one pic,

If the Jammin team would have been present I bet the top spots would have not been so saturated with Losi's

Lol, Jeremey is such a cool dude. He was helping my buddy out all weekend, very nice guy. Nice shot of my Matrix too!!! Awesome angle! I love it. Can I get the original for a print somehow?
I ran Crimes on my buggy, worked better than Bowties when wet or dry. On my Truggy, the Bowties worked better when wet as they didnt get cleated with mud. The Hole shots were way hooked up though when it got dry.
It was a great weekend, and Hurricane RC Club put on an awesome show. Owning a track I know the pressures. But everythying was run on time, the directors where very nice and the whole atmosphere was very professional. Hats off!!
Chris Sytsma

I'm with Chris. Jeremy is a cool dude. The track was super dialed for the entire week and the track crew did a great job keeping us racing after 4-6 inches of rain.
I would again like to thank all my sponsors for making this event a reality:
www.TCHobbys.com
Mugen Seiki Racing Team
www.GabeBoudreau.com
Team Krista
US Army (goarmy.com) Hooruuh!
Paint by: Urban Kolor Legends ( www.UKLDesigns.com)
John and Susan Boudreau
Team Kinwald ( www.teamkinwald.net)
Team Mastercard
A warm thank you goes out to Peter, Cory, Trey, Lucas, Skyler and Troy of Florida for helping to pit my car and truggy for the event! Also a thank you to my former team mates of CEN Racing Andy Smolnik and Gene Hickerson for the tires. Good job this weekend guys!
And just like Paul V. said, I did drive to FL from CA (about 2,500 miles one way) to race this race! It was way cheaper than a plane ticket, rental car, and hotel. I had lots of fun driving through Americas heartland and the South. The people I met on the road were amazingly friendly and courteous. A huge change for me from the "DOG EAT DOG" reality of Southern California.
In all I drove 5,075 miles in 72 hours (total driving time) and was on the road for six days while in transit. I burned 285 gallons of fuel in my truck and spent only $504 on gasoline. I consumed 10 gallons of water, coffee, soda-pop and one Smirnof Ice. I ate 2 loafs of bread and 1 jar of peanut butter and one jar of jelly.
I drove through two Blizzards, one ice storm and 2 days of rain to get to and from the race! This was by far, the farthest I have ever driven to go to a race! I can't wait to get a tour bus and go to EVERY track in America! One day soon I tell you...one day soon!
To all the people that were at the race that I had the pleasure of speaking with thank you for keeping a lonely stranger company while he was many many miles from home, family and friends; I thank you.
To the track crew, the race directors and the Tech guys, you did an excellent job and I hope and prey that this race will expand for next year (they had approx. 200 entry's for the event).
To everyone that won a class at the event or made an A-Main GREAT WORK! Mike Truhe is the MAN! Great work beating the Drakeanator in the buggy main Mike!
To Martin Gramatica (Kicker for the Dallas Cowboys and the Bucs) great job making the Pro Truggy A-Main final! I will be looking for that autographed Car Action magazine when it comes out in a few months with the race review on it! You are my favorite player in the NFL brother! Kickers RULE!
And to all the teams that didn't bother to send drivers to this race, you missed out on easy PR with some of the best drivers and people our country has to offer. Your loss
Great work everyone...I have one more race to attend before I leave for BCT Feb. 26th, 2007. The Nitro Challenge in Wittman AZ.
Regards,
Gabe "Commandrow" Boudreau

AE new about it. They had Jason Ruona and JR Mitch there with the Thunder Tiger buggies etc.
They were both in the A-main in buggy and truck.
Thanks for the comments!

That is O.G. style RC411! I always roll my G-Unit pants up like that so you know. And those pants are OFFICIAL size and weight of 50 Cent.
Funny thing is that I have pictures of my father from the 50's in the eagle scouts and all of them the levi's are rolled up like that! O.G. style man...i'm tellin ya!
OH YEAH, and my grandmother boudreau was born in 1920 in Compton, CA and lived there until 1946 when she married my grandpa boudreau...aint that a trip?

They did do a good job Cain. They would have had one more truggy in there if the GM of the company wasn't so cheap
I love CEN Racing, but I HATE KEN WU the G.M. of the company. Anyone can tell ya that!
