WFRCCC II: Saturday, July 28, 2007
Same rules as last year, but we'll also be posting new rules soon as to what constitutes a Mini, a Monster Truck, a Motorcycle etc. Again, ANYTHING that follows the essential rules (wheel-driven, 40" long or less) will be allowed to run. But if you stretch an RC18T to a 12" wheelbase and run 1/10 scale touring car tires in it, you can't say it's running in the "mini" class.
We also want to avoid endless sub-classes (for example, we won't have Monster Truck nitro, Monster Truck brushed, Monster Truck brushless, Monster Truck 1/8, Monster Truck 1/10--there will just be "Monster Truck")

The Speed Channel should be contacted to broadcast the event. Is the event going to be in Cali again?

I race trucks with the producer and assoicate producer of "Windtunnel" at the Grove in Rock Hill. The do reports on big races at the Farm II also. If I see them at the track I will tell them you are planning an East coast event at the Rock and we may get them to cover it since the Speed Channel is out of Charlotte, NC.

I think Billy W and Peter V need to get together on a date for the East Coast event at Rockingham Dragway in Hamlet, NC this year or Billy W just needs to announce the date and invite Peter V to cover it???
I believe the East Coast event would be bigger and faster than the West Coast event.

Track Conditions
Any word on the type of track the event will be held at? Last year at the competition, so many factors ended up working against our entry, I already have an entry built and will be testing shortly. Would be helpful to know how to design other entries around the kind of track...drag strip, banked oval...? Hello Craps. Its Dan from Kershaw Designs.

IMO, there's no need for a separate east coast event. If RCCA is a west coast magazine, then it makes sense to host the event nearby.
The event would possibly bigger on the east coast, perhaps too big, but doubtful it'd be faster.

I wonder if I can plan my Honeymoon to the WFRCC.
Los Vegas would be a better spot to host such an event!!!! Many small regional flights go to Los Vegas, not to mention every major Airline.
RCCA already pays to send thier journalist to racing events around the country so send them to SIN CITY. Logisitically speaking Los Vegas works better for everyone. Better food, enterianment, lodging, nationwide access, and the city is known for hosting events big or small.

I like your rules, KEEP IT SIMPLE, but make the car fast.
Also, its about time racing has "OPEN" entries and the nitro/eletrical line blur.

I looked over the threads from last year's competition, but to no avail. Does anybody know the official list of catagories (i.e. monster truck, mini, touring...?)

Check the bottom post, by Steve.
I would assume it will be as simple as: 1/24, 1/18, 1/12, 1/10, 1/8 in sub classes as Off-Road, On-Road and Monster Truck. Of course Run-Wat-U-Brung class which anything other form factor. Fuel/Power Source most likely not create a sub-class so I.C.E.(Interal Combustion Engine) and Electric will be running together.

Hi
I started designing a fast car and then I found this thread! When is the challenge going to be held and where? I expect to get my car up and running around September 07, will this be in time?
Regards

I could be wrong, but isn't RCCA based out of CT? If so, an east coast event would make more sense...it was west coast last time, now it should be east coast. Its fair.

I think it should be held here in the East Coast as well. For me specially, it would be a lot more convenient. I'm a single father and my daughter has Autism and it is very hard to find trust worthy babysitters to watch her. RCCA please consider an East Coast event.
