XTM Racing Monster MT
From XTM Racing:
XTM Racing is proud to announce the Monster MT - 1/8+ Nitro Monster Truck, Factory Assembled, Ready to Run. This 4WD beast will be released this spring, and will have a suggested selling price of $400. The Monster MT will easily accommodate XTM's after market reverse module system for customers who want to add reverse. Thanks to the included 3-ch 10 model memory FM radio system, no additional radio is needed except for the purchase of a standard servo for reverse shifting. Additionally, many of the other after market options that are currently available for XTM's successful vehicles, such as the XT2 and Mammoth ST, bolt right on!
The Monster MT is freakishly huge, unforgiving, and cruel to all who would dare stand in its way! Big and bad, it measures over two feet long and almost a foot and a half wide. Its massive seven-inch diameter tires gives this Monster nearly four inches of ground clearance! Eight threaded aluminum, fully adjustable oil-filled shocks create a plush ride and enough traction to conquer any terrain at any speed. Being a Monster requires monster power. That's where the XTM .28 engine with its polished aluminum rear exhaust comes into play. Coupled to an all-steel, two-speed drive train, this nitro burning powerhouse accelerates this big brute up to a very impressive 45 mph! Four vented disk brakes rein-in this monster in no time. Making this Monster go where you want is easy thanks to two metal-geared, high-torque steering servos putting out 350oz/in (27kg) of combined torque! When it comes to all out performance or just bashing around fun, look no further than the Monster MT!
Features:
> Factory built with 3 channel / 10 model memory FM radio system.
> Dual high torque, metal-geared steering servos.
> Heavy duty 5mm bracing front and rear.
> XTM's powerful .28 rear exhaust engine.
> Polished aluminum rear exhaust tuned pipe system.
> 8 threaded and polished aluminum oil-filled shocks.
> Steel 2-speed with 75/70 size gearing for low end power.
> Drive train uses rubber sealed bearings.
> Large 11.4cm(4.5”) wheels with 17mm hex hubs.
> Massive 17.8cm(7”) tires with foam inserts.

> Dust resistant receiver and battery boxes.

Nope. This'll flop like the first two did. I see no need in another monster, especially one that breaks easially, and from XTM.
You hear me XTM? Fix it!

Just look at the size of it. Ok they said 4 disk brakes.
-
But how are the disks arranged??
Per Wheel??
Or all in the center somewhere?
-
Also, for 400 bux, id get this over a savage just because of its size. Im sure its a solid performing machine.

Ya...I'm gonna have to second this. Having owned a Mammoth I can say that the engine rocks. Other than that...ya...nothing to say really...definately nothing positive.

One thing people have to keep in mind is that about 80% or more r/c cars and trucks sold don't even see a race track .That means that most "race " capable trucks and cars don't get raced at all.NOT everything sold has to race worthy ,there is more being sold to the back yard basher and that is were the money is for most r/c companies. As for XTM ,they are a great value for what you are paying.I do have to agree that a better radio would be great ,but it is still a name brand radio in the box.
For the person who said that XTM Mammoth had flaws ,so did the Savage ,LST,Aftershock and CEN'S,but i didn't stop people from buying them.
I think it's easy for people to make bad comments about something that's not even out yet or are so brand oriented that they don't give other companies products a chance.
I remember when a shop's wouldn't even carry Traxxas products until the T-max,just think if all shop owners had the same thinking ,were would the T-Max or for that matter Traxxas be right now!
What i am trying to say that give it chance .Not everything has to be raceable.Even tough i think the new XTM MT in the right hands could be race worthy.

After having savages, revo's, LST's, t-maxxs'
and 1/8th scales buggies, and truggies,
When I bought the Mammoth ST it was the biggest let down purchase I made.
One wreck from putting on the brakes to hard which resulted in a front flip, took out the back hingepin block, bent the rear of the chassis plate. bent the hinge pins.
I fixed that only to have the THIN PLASTIC servo saver arm fold up, the servos let go, the arms were taffy in 90 degree weather..
The diffs skipped teeth.
The hexes weren't anodized, so the nut jammed onto the adapter...
The amount of flex in the chassis was scary....
No- after having all the trucks out here this one was plagued with problems. No matter what it cost.

I agree 100%. I too have owned every big name monster truck out there, and the Mammoth was an enormous turd.

I have owned the XTM X Factor and it was a great truck that was nearly unbreakable. I cant believe the Mammoth could actually be that bad. The post that described all the broke parts after one crash must of been one heck of a crash to bend and break that kind of stuff.
Everyone puts down XTM like thier Duratrax, but they have some of the best customer service in the business.
