OFNA Dirt Oval GTP Roller

The new GTP chassis will also be available as a preassembled chassis kit that’s tweaked for dirt oval racing. The Dirt Oval GTP has many of the on-road version’s hot new features, but it will include a direct drive center spool with steel spur gear and a pair of 1/2 inch offset hex adapters to increase the track on the right side of the chassis for improved oval weight distribution (standard hex adapters are in the box too, along with treaded street radials for racers who want to set it up for pavement pounding). The chassis will not include an engine, body or electronics, so you can outfit it with your favorite gear, and it will have a super low street price around $200.

didnt the GTP always have a center spool, I had one what must have been five years ago now and it had the center spool, also had the PBS in the rear and front.
These are defanatly cool cheap beaters, and decent rally cars as well.

Around $200? That's awesome...that makes this a perfect candidate for an on-road basher. Very nice Ofna!

They should fit great!

I went to my lhs and tried the BMW body on my MBX5 that I converted to street/rally use. It fit like it was made for it. Right now I have the Ofna Porsche body on it. The MBX shock tower is almost to tall to use with it. I doubt my car would work with the Kyosho Ferrari body but should fit the Ofna car because of the lower and shorter shocks and front and rear shock towers.

PS, I used Ofna parts to convert mine, but will turn it back into a buggy and sell once the GTP roller gets here. I want the 2 speed! PSS so far GRP rally rubber is the best tires I have used on concrete.

This looks like I will be buying another vehicle to put in my stable. There is a dirt oval track about an hour away. What motor is everyone thinking about?

We currently race 1/8 scale late models every week at OKC. I use an Ofna Ultra LX-1 buggy modified to fit an A-plus latemodel body. We use a spec tire (the same one this kit uses). Any engine can be used but there is a $500 claim rule on the chassis and engine. This really keeps everyone equal and the racing is a blast. This kit is a great start, but I'm not sure about the center spool. I like to be able to adjust front and rear brakes independently.
Here's a pic...
