FIRST LOOK! Jammin CRT X2, ROAR NATS CHAMP!

Though not yet officially called the CRT-X2, this is nonetheless the new Jammin truggy--and the new ROAR National Champ, thanks to Taylor James!

Body-off, looking very svelte.

New, larger-diameter shocks.

Rear angle, and closeup. That's a Losi wheel, but the X2 will include a similar, large-diameter design. The big wheel concept seems to be shaping up to be the new standard.

Chassis. Everything is more closely packaged.

Old chassis vs new. Note the extension that protects the radio box.

It looks cool! I'm not a fan of the large diameter wheels because they just don't look right for me, but hey, whatever works....

looks like they are trying to save some weight with the smaller chassis and carbon shock towers

I have to agree, everything here has been done by BCE, with the exception of the pop-out to cover the radio box. I'd like to have the new big bore shocks.

Taylor's a great wheel man though, what a fantastic show he put on! Remember, the best kit in the world is nothing without a top driver and good fortune.

I don't want to sound like the killjoy here but for how relatively young the truggy class is all of the trucks look kinda the same. come to think of it that is how almost all the classes are now, with the exception of a few innovative cars like the 8ight/-t, JRX-S, and the RC8. I wish we had more innovation as opposed to company's replicating what is currently the winning design. I know business wise it is the smart thing to do, but come on, try something different!! :end rant:

other than that cool looking truck.

i would like to see spiral cut gears, and a different final drive ratio.

looks like they took care of the shocks and that huge pancake chassis..the old stock chassis was just way too wide.

now all they need to change is their drivetrain...i also dont like the idea of offset rims, but whatever works i guess.

The BCE design is OK, but it has its flaws as well and its pretty damn expensive to boot.

glad to see Jammin making some changes, they have an awesome team aboard their crowd. good job team Jammin!!!!

Anyone know what tires those are? I'm wondering if they're the new Proline LPRs?

I am not trying to say that, that every car is a design stolen form someone elses car, and I am not saying it is a bad thing overall for the hobby, I am just saying personally i would like more variety.

You havent tried the the pro-jp2 chassis with a small gear conversion. Yea, it less expensive then the kyosho st-r chassis upgrade. Plus, he continues to work on it, with the his jpx chassis he is releasing this month.

BTW, the old CRT and new CRT are almost clones. Not much has changed with it. the new chassis looks to be just as big as the old, but now has a wider spot to protect the radio box. Doesnt seem like the gearing has changed either.

tires

those tires were a proline wheel/tire combo only the sponsored pros had, NOT something Jammin made

Looks like another great racing truggy for us to drool over. With all the new truggies coming out here lately, it leaves me with one question. Where are the truggy shootouts of the current models? The comparisons. What's going on? Im sure everyone out there wants to see these trucks on equal footing, dueling it out for RCCA Gold.

Pat656 how do you know that proline made those wheels??

I know that maxx tires work on the losi 8-t rims as do GRP's.

I personally like the big tires; currently i've been running the GRP Cubics. They hook up really well at my track and i believe they help give my ST-R the proper ride height. I'm glad i read this thread as i was about to buy Losi rims and throw tires on them, but now i guess i'll just wait a couple of months and see what the hot setup produces.

In regards to every truggy looking the same:
There are only so many places where you can place an engine: Left or right side
There are so many places where you can place a fuel tank: left, right, or center
Shock toweres are shock towers
All the truggies are similar but then again so are 1:1 automobiles: Most cars have engines on the front but look different. When your racing your looking at the shell not the insides; so i guess you could buy a different shell and be happy that way

I can't believe how juvenile this thread has gotten. Bigedmond, before you start slandering the new truck and saying "not much has changed" here is a list of new items straight from Chad Bradley on Sgrid:

Longer chassis (lengthed behind the engine)
New Gearing (buggy size spurs)
New 16mm Shocks
Low Profile body (bodies from the nationals are still prototype, so
things might be changed here and there).
new Weight distribution in the chassis:
engine moved toward center line and foward
radio equipment box moved foward and closer to center line
center diff assembly moved foward
molded special pat. pending center diff mount
Bigger Dia. wheels & Tires
Not sure if Carbon Towers will be offered in the kit, however might be
option piece.
Much lighter, my teched at the nats 1-2 oz over the roar limit of 9 lbs
Still has great foward traction despite weight moved foward and longer
wheel base.
Same easy handling CRT, just faster, and lighter!

Also, from what I understand..........all of the trucks that run a half offset wheel used the Losi wheels with the new Proline LPR tires, trucks with zero offset used both the new Proline wheels and tires.
