Stampede

I have had a Traxxas Stampede for about 3 years and have just finally Bought a new 17 turn Double motor, Traxxas ESC, Slipper Clutch, and 1800 7 cell battery. and I was wondering if I would need to change the Gearing or not, right now I am just using the stock pinion and a 84 tooth spru gear.
any ideas.

I would drop about 3 teeth on the pinion gear. It would be better to reduce the pinion size for the faster motor so it doesn't overload the motor and cook it.

Try gearing it 15/87. If it gets to hot that way. Go down to 14. If it isnt getting hot at all try 16 or 17t pinions.
