T-Maxx Clutch Bell Options!

Hey guys,

I'm running the 16 tooth bell, and 72 tooth spur gears. I've seen posts on how to modify a Losi 76 tooth spur for the T. Are there any lower toothed clutch bell gear options out there?

How did you get it to shift into second gear with a 16 tooth bell against a 72 spur gear. I tried all afternoon Sunday and had no success. I even dropped to a 70 spur gear with no success.

Sounds liek a tranny problem to me? Thee's not a whole lot of diference between the 20, 18, and 16? They all worked fine for me, never adjusted the shift points at all on my truck. Id try adjusting yours, it may just be off?

Figured out your shift problems from another guy having the same problem. Just adjust your tranny shift points. The lower gearing means you have to rev higher to spin you spur gear fast enought to get to that shift point. Mine was probably just set lower.

If you are willing to install a MIP heavyweight flywheel and 4-n-1 clutch for a RC10GT, along with the RC10GT pilot shaft, you could then put on a Robinson Racing 14 tooth clutchbell. That is what my plans are. I have talked to others that have done it with no problems.

Yes, the RC10GT uses 32 pitch gears.

hey guys, i just put a new associated engine on my t-maxx. and with it, i got a mip 4n1 clutch, mip heavyweught flywheel, and a robinson racing 17 tooth clutchbell. i love this setup! the 4-n-1 clutch lets the engine rev a lot higher before it engages. and even with the 17 tooth, my associated seems like it is at least 5 maybe even 10 mph faster than with the trx engine. and you probably could use the 14 tooth, but you might have to mod the gas tank a bit.

Here is how I installed the RC10GT flywheel, clutch, and bell on my T-Maxx.

I am running a 15 tooth bell on my GT. If you want to goto the 14, you will have to modify or move your fuel tank. My EZ-start engine is right against the tank.
