16 tooth clutch on a T

I put a 16 tooth clutch bell on my TMaxx, but can't get it to shift into second gear. Is the 16 just too small or has anyone had any luck with a 16?

Have you tried to adjust the shift point between first and second ? Why a 16 tooth bell ? Are you looking for extreme acceloration with a loss of top end power and speed ? I plan to try a 22 tooth bell with a 66 tooth spur for extreme top end speed. Also a stinger pipe kit will restore the bottom end power loss due to the gear change. I performed this type of change on my Nitro Rustler and it has a very, very noticable increase in top end speed. I need to find a police officer to shoot it with radar. It will still pull the front end off of the grass under full throttle !!! I can't wait to try this on the T-Maxx !!! Good luck with your selected gear change. Let me know how it works out if you don't mind !!

I had the 16t bell on my T because I raced it and need quick burst of power. It will wheelie with it in there. You will have to adjust the shift point. Read the manual very carefully!

I did loose some top speed but not enough to make me want to take it out. If you want a compromise then go for the 18t bell.

This is monster truck kit. Not designed to break the land speed record. Who really cares if it goes 40,50, or whatever? The real question is what will it climb, jump, or run over?????????

I must agree with you. This truck is designed for climbing and pulling. I have this never ending need for speed, but in this case, muscle is the key. I will try the 16 tooth bell instead of the 22 tooth. Wheelies sound like the most fun !! I will keep the Nitro Rustler for the land speed record !!Thanks for helping me slow down a little !!!
