Awesome! Anyone care to explain what happend to it? I seriously thought I wasn't allowed in the TL01 forum anymore. Thats too bad for people wanting to go back and read up on old stuff. Oh well! Here's my car.

Nice TL chuckwagon! What body you using on it? You'll never go back to crap Tamiya plugs once you go Deans. No more power loss and burnt fingers or melting plugs!

I just have the NSX body that came with the kit. Yours looks good. I preffer it when they a painted with just one color. Maybe a two tone would look good. Haven't seen one like that though. A new body isn't a bad idea. Not sure which one I would get.

I need to find that plastic piece the covers the gears on the driveshaft so I can have 4WD again. I had to for some years now and its still stock! At the moment, I'm having too much fun with my E-Maxx, and I used its leftover decals and turned my TL-01 into a "E-Maxx promotional vehicle".

It first came with the Nissan Pennzoil Nismo GT-R body, but now it has a black and gold HPI Porsche 911 Turbo body. Pics if ya want em.

does anyone know a good setup i can use to make a tl01 smoke all four tires?
i'm curious about ESCbrands and motor brands as well as number of turns etc...
I don't want to spend an outlandish amount of money...
I already have ball bearings, any other good upgrades suggested, such as ball bearing diffs carbon shafts etc?

I don't know what happened to the other thread but I guess we can use this one for now. I'm looking at new bodies and I have 2 on my list. The new HPI RX-8 and the Elise 2000 bodies. Which one would u choose?

Sorry, I posted this in the other TL01 thread before I saw this one.

I know they are both 190 mm but I want to make sure they will fit the TL01.

Thanks guys.

Chuckwagon, I also think sometimes a simple one color job looks better than a body with all the colors of the rainbow. But then again laying down one color is pretty much a no-brainer. Since your in the market for a body, I suggest you find something from Tamiya first . A perfect fit anytime, all the time!

TA03DH, Its not just an RSX, its a JDM USDM Mugen Acura Integra Honda RSX to be exact .

SegaBowMan, I would definitely go with the RX-8. No rocket scientist myself but the RX8 looks like it would handle much better than the Elise, I also think it looks better!

Minijosh, sweet idea! Good keeping it Mazda to Mazda. That paint scheme is nice, but it looks very time consuming to do. Goodluck!

Well,
My name is hyper and I am a TL-01 addict. You know what, I just bought a brand new Beams Integra TL-01 kit and I am buying every hop up there is for it. This is my third TL-01 i have owned. My first was the mustang cobra kit with hop ups up the ying yang. Then I sold it, go into nitro. Then I needed a basher parking lot car, so I got one off of ebay, then sold that one. I now bought my third TL-01 and this one I have the order at Towers for all the hop ups I had (except for shocks) on my first TL-01. I guess I need one of these in my RC collections.

The TL01 will be my drifting car. Got some PVC piping that fits perfectly over the stock rims. We now drift on Saturday nights out front of the hobby store and there are about 8 of us with 1/10 scale drifters. Mine is the first Tamiya car out there. The rest are HPI older RS4's. I think one Sprint car is out there also.

Well lets see some pics.

Race on...

These TL01 are great bashers, but you need to seriously spend cash to even get this car up to the ranks of the TC3, HPI. So while I was getting my rear end mashed at the local races, I invested in the YOKOMO SSG (pics of the car on in the YOKOMO forum) with a brushless system. I now race in the modified class with the YOKOMO and drift like crazy in the drift sessions.

Race on...

Died?! What on earth made you say that? We're too busy kicking Tamiya's other tourers ass! You can never under estimate the TL01. It's still Tamiya's best chassis .
