Reliant Kits

You will have to build from plans unless you are lucky enough to locate an old Berkeley 42" w/s kit. I have been hounding kit designers to bring out an electric kit for years. The sexy wing is probably considered to difficult for average builder. Cleveland
has plans in various scales, Aerodyne Online has reproduction of plans from the Berkeley kit ( maybe missing some former patterns). If you are experienced, this is the only way to build a Reliant.

Berkeley Stinson Reliant Kit

Watch Ebay ads until a Berkeley Stinson Reliant shows up, go to Home page and enter "Berkeley Stinson Reliant" also try "Stinson Reliant" also try different spellings of Berkeley ie Berkley, Berkly, etc. I have seen these kits on Ebay but they are 50 years old and now very scarce. It is not likely that you will find one but if you do it will go for about $100. One of the regular Ebay sellers Curtis Mattikow, "Easy Tiger", sells a lot of vintage kits, you can watch his offerings. Also, his ads usually reference a vintage model collectors club/newsletter that you might contact to find the kit. It would still probably be easier and cheaper to build from available plans. The Cleveland plans are probably the best bet.

Just in case you may be interested, I have a 80" Cleveland Stinson Reliant in kit form. It has never been started, still as it was when it was produced in the forties. John

I have a 57inch Sterling Stinson Reliant NIB in pristine condition. I do not intend to keep this kit as I had two and completed the build on one. I would sell this kit if someone is interested. Having a backup kit seemed like a good idea but to date it has not been needed and I have had it for some time now. They go for about $200.00 on ebay.
